Swimming classes are mostly conducted during summer vacations by various swimming clubs pack n play with portable bassinet. Parents can enrol their children in any of them. Certified coaches give lessons and instructions. Basic swimming lessons can be learned in about a month. A swimming pool should have at least one lifeguard along with any number of coaches. The survival of Child through their initial years relies upon the grown-ups who care for them. Youngsters need to eat well to develop, be sound and solid. What to expect in Swimming Classes
The swimming classes for kids are conducted in small-sized pools, popularly known as mini pools. These pools are not very deep. Before allowing entry into the pools, the instructor would first make his students do some warm-up exercises. After warm-up exercises, swimming costumes are worn, and a shower is taken. Swimming caps can be worn by girls and boys who have long hair. One can also wear goggles if he feels a stinging sensation in his eyes due to chlorine in swimming pools.
Leg Action or Kicking
Kicking or leg action involves kicking the water by keeping the feet closed without bending the knees. Once a person masters the leg action, he is then taught floating. Leg action is easily mastered within 3-4 days.
After learning the leg action, the fear of water disappears in most people. Now people are taught to float by keeping their bodies in a prone position. After this, strokes are taught
There are four strokes or styles of swimming
Breaststroke- This is the easiest and simplest to learn. Most instructors make beginners learn breaststroke first. The arm and leg action involved in this stroke is completely similar to what a frog does while swimming.
Freestyle or Front Crawl- This stroke enables a person to swim at high speed, but a person must hold his breath in this stroke. Some coaches teach this stroke before breaststroke.
Backstroke and Butterfly strokes- These strokes are for advanced learners who have mastered freestyle and backstrokes.
Precautions to be taken
Swimming is fun and safe when learned under proper guidance but can be fatal if adequate precautions are not taken. Children should enter a pool only in the presence of a coach. Each pool should also have a certified lifeguard continuously on the watch. A single coach should not attend to more than 25 children at a time.
One should not enter a swimming pool in case of a fever. Underwater swimming or swim in natural water bodies can be life-threatening. Hence it should not be tried by amateurs or beginners.
